precision grinding

external cylindrical grinding tailored to measure and surface quality

Precision grinding is required when a component needs to meet very exact dimensional demands. For a long time, it was only possible to grind individual areas of a component in one work step. Thanks to CNC-controlled precision grinding machines, we are now able to grind components much faster and therefore also more cost-effectively. From single-unit production to series production, we offer precision grinding according to the drawing in our grinding center.

Mere grinding orders

By using modern precision cylindrical grinding machines, we are able to realize diameter, form and position tolerances as well as various surface finishes with the highest quality standards. The technical application determines which surface properties should be realized. The right choice in assembling the grinding wheel and the suitable grinding parameters facilitate the efficient and cost-effective precision grinding of your workpieces. With our know-how we implement your specification of the surface structure

Pre- and post-processing in the coating process

During the coating of components, precision grinding is an important process step in order to optimize the surface quality. As upstream step, the surface of the base material is processed in order to produce an optimal layer quality during the coating process.

As post-processing of the coating, the desired surface quality is achieved by precision grinding. In the case of thicker hard chrome layers in particular, components are chrome-plated with excess and then ground to the specified dimension. This particularly affects parts that require especially high wear protection.

In combination with our mechanical processing, excess chrome plating is also suitable for the repair or restauration of worn components as well as the build-up through chrome plating of workpieces, which have been ground to measure. Learn more about the benefits of Regeneration.
